Our Packaging: Why do we wrap everything?

Before Púca Púca Games came to be, we had a discussion over coffee: “If you were to start your dream business, what would it be?”.  This discussion sparked the initial conversation that grew to be our business plan.

During this conversation we discussed what we enjoyed about our shopping experiences, and what we would improve.  One thing we felt needed improving in the Geek culture space was packaging.

It started off with retro video games.  Old games are a piece of living history and cost as much as new games but are treated as though they are worth next to nothing.  We have seen retro video games and consoles packaged by stores in old grocery bags and bin liners.  They are sometimes left dirty and stored poorly, leaving them to yellow in direct sunlight.  We decided we wanted to change this and so we test, clean, and package up every item we sell out.  We want our items to be treated with the respect that they deserve.

We carry this respect for our products into our other areas of trade too.  If people choose to spend their hard-earned money with us, we want to make each purchase to feel special.  We package each purchase up by hand and with care. We send our parcels out to you, our customers as a gift for you, from you.

All of our packaging is environmentally friendly and curb-side recyclable so you don't need feel guilty about your shopping experience.  You can read more about this in our environmental policy listed on our website.

As for our wrapping paper, the company we purchase it from is part of an eco-alliance programme.  This means that with every order we make, a tree is planted to help with reforestation.
